How Ruben got started
Owner Ruben Cortez grew up on San Antonio’s South Side and spent his early twenties on moving crews around the 410 and 1604 loops. He started 1st Priority Movers in 2012 on one promise: a flat written price honored to the dollar, with movers on payroll instead of day labor.
Why the name
In the Alamo City, Ruben kept hearing about crews that showed up short-handed or rang up surprise fees. He wanted his customers to feel like the first priority every time — the name went on the trucks in 2012 and the rule has not moved since.
